CONSTRUCTION BEGINS ON HOHLT PARK WALKING TRAIL TODAY
Construction will begin today on the Hohlt Park walking trail that was damaged during the May storm.
The walking trail repair includes the removal of the old trail, new edging, and a new crushed granite path. Brenham Public Works Director, Dane Rau, believes the end date for the trail completion will be sometime in November.
Rau says that signs have been posted stating that the park is open, but the trail is closed due to the damages. With construction beginning, he urges park users to avoid using the walking trail.
There will be heavy machinery working and survey staking taking place. Brenham Public Works is asking that all users of the park respect the construction area so that it is a safe work zone. Cooperation from park users will also allow the project to be completed within the projected 60 day window of work.
Parks staff will be monitoring the walking trail to ensure everyone is safe. Park users are asked to utilize the Jackson Street Park trail during this time.
