UNITY THEATRE TO PRESENT “FREUD’S LAST SESSION”
Unity Theatre will present a play at the end of this month that explores the minds, hearts and souls of two brilliant men addressing some of the greatest questions of all time.
Freud’s Last Session by Mark St. Germain (suggested by The Question of God by Dr. Armand M. Nicholi, Jr.) begins as the legendary psychoanalyst Dr. Sigmund Freud invites the young, rising Oxford Don C.S. Lewis to his home in London. On the day England enters World War Two, Freud and Lewis clash about love, sex, the existence of God, and the meaning of life, just weeks before Freud took his own life.
James Belcher is directing the play as well as portraying the incomparable Dr. Sigmund Freud. James is known from his role as the scheming writer, Sidney Bruhl, in Unity Theatre’s production of Deathtrap in 2014. The steady and persistent C. S. Lewis is played by Unity Theatre newcomer, Andrew Love.
Freud’s Last Session runs for two weekends only at Unity Theatre, previewing on Thursday, October 27th, opening on Friday, October 28th, and plays in the Studio through Sunday, November 6th.
