COMMUNITY CORNER TO FEATURE NANCY CAROL ROBERTS LIBRARIAN

  

This week’s KWHI Community Corner segment will feature the librarian at Brenham’s Nancy Carol Roberts Memorial Library.

Andria Heiges will join Craig Montana to talk about the newly remodeled library.

The modernized library features a large central room surrounded by smaller rooms.  A media room will allow users to video themselves for job applications or for Skype or YouTube. There are also a new children’s area, a genealogy room, and a large program room for meetings and presentations.  There is even an outdoor patio for reading made possible by a grant from LCRA. The new library is 25 percent larger than the old and was funded by a 50 / 50 split of public funds and private donations.

The official grand opening is this Monday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The festivities will include two puppet shows for kids at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. The library will also have new hours when it reopens, Monday through Thursday from 9am to 7pm, Friday from 9am to 5pm and Saturday from 9am to 3pm.

Community Corner airs every Tuesday at 9:05 a.m. and features special guests speaking with Craig Montana about significant events happening in Washington County during the week. Community members are encouraged to call in during the segment to get their questions answered.
