BLUEBONNET MASTER GARDENER OPEN HOUSE SET FOR JAN. 10TH
The Bluebonnet Master Gardener Association will hold its annual open house on January 10th.
The association is a multi-county program designed to provide in-depth gardening education and volunteer opportunities for anyone in the Austin, Colorado, Fayette, and Washington County Area. Each year in January the association hosts their annual training class, providing 60+ extensive hours of education in the form of classroom presentations, hands on activities, field trips, and association meeting.
This is a unique opportunity for individuals who are interested in horticulture and serving their community. Master Gardeners are trained in all facets of horticulture such as plant & soil science, entomology, plant pathology, landscape design, vegetable gardening and much more. Upon completion of their training, Master Gardeners will be required to have 50 hours of class time and give at least 50 hours of volunteer service time in their local community in order to receive the title of “Master Gardener”. Training classes will be each Thursday, January 19, 2017 through April 25, 2017 at the Fayette County Extension Office in LaGrange. Classes will be held from 9:00am until 1:00pm each day.
The Washington County Master Gardeners Association open house and kick off to the 2016 Gardening Lunch-N-Learn Series will be Tuesday, January 10, 2017 from 11:00am - 1:00pm at the Washington County Fairgrounds Sales Facility.
