DIXIE ROAD INTERSECTION REOPENED

  

Dixie Road at the Highway 36 has reopened to traffic.

For the past three weeks, the intersection west of Highway 36 was closed as part of a project to widen the loop to four lanes. The project added two lanes to the Highway 36 Loop between the U.S. 290 West cloverleaf and Business 36 North.

Previously, the Texas Department of Transportation deemed the Highway 36 Loop “dangerous” as it had a number of fatal accidents over the years.

The recent closure allowed contractors to complete a tie-in to new the new lanes of traffic.
