FIRST RESPONDERS DAY HAPPENING SATURDAY IN NAVASOTA
The Navasota Police Department and Navasota Fire Department are joining forces this Saturday for First Responders Day.
The event is happening from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in downtown Navasota.
“We will have over 30 different agencies and departments represented from all across Grimes County” says Navasota Police Chief Justin Leeth.
They different departments will have apparatuses and equipment on display.
“We’ll have a couple helicopters here, our armored personnel carrier, several fire trucks and patrol cars, and you can come out and get safety tips and tours of their equipment and what they’re using each and every day to protect the people of Grimes County” says Leeth.
“We’ve got live demonstrations every hour on the hour and we’ve got an EOD robot that’s going to be doing a demonstration.”
There will also be a canine demonstration from the Grimes County Sheriff’s Department and a live burn exercise from the fire department. The grand finale will be a tug of war between fire, law enforcement, and EMS.
