CHAMBER REPORTS ON WEB TRAFFIC TO COMMISSIONERS

Convention and Visitors Bureau Website and Social Media Manager Jenny Mills presented the year’s 1st quarter report at the May 23rd meeting of the Commissioners. Mills informed the court that all the numbers were looking good, and that they were having really “large online activity.”

Mills specified that March had the largest numbers, suggesting that the early bluebonnet season influenced the traffic. With over 500 downloads in just 1 month, the Visit Brenham app is performing well.

President and CEO of the Chamber, Page Michel, added that they are in the process of encouraging local businesses to expand their weekend and evening hours, and that a few businesses have also been bringing in live music.

Precinct 4 Commissioner Joy Fuchs suggested they look in to a way to slow down the traffic on Main Street, since there are so many visitors that are crossing the street now. She expressed concern that someone may be hurt by a driver busy looking at signs and driving too fast down the road.

Michel also took the chance to introduce their new Project Manager for the Economic Development Corporation, Steven Drake.
