CITY APPROVES 2 NOISE VARIANCE REQUESTS FOR THIS WEEKEND

The City Council approved two noise variance requests ahead of the approaching weekend. The first will be for a group coming in as a part of the Juneteenth parade.

The Brenham Outlaws are a trail riding group that will participate in the upcoming Juneteenth festivities, and requested a noise variance from the Council for Hattie Mae Flowers Park on the corner of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd and Burleson.

While the group has stayed with the rest of the parade riders in the past, they explained in their request that they have had trouble finding room in the past few years, and seek space to dismount, park their trailers, and give their horses space to cool off.

Multiple locals, including local law enforcement officers, vouched for the group, who would be out of the park by 8pm according to their request. After a few members of Council were assured the trailers would be parked along the curb, the request was approved.

Also approved was a repeat request for a birthday celebration at 800 Pleasantview in a subdivision that is in its 3rd year.

The 13 hour celebration will include a DJ, and neighbors joining in. The request was coming from the same person, and the Council was informed that after 3 years, they had no complaints yet.

The request was again approved.
