BRENHAM BUILDING PERMITS UP IN DECEMBER

  

Building Permits issued by the City of Brenham in December were up slightly over the same month last year.  The city reports that 24 permits were issued in December for $1.9 million.  That compares to 20 permits issued in December 2016 for $1.7 million.  Totals for the year were up slightly also.  401 permits were issued in 2017 for a total of $47 million.  In 2016, 367 permits were issued for $46 million.

Two commercial projects lead the permits in December.  Brenham Self Storage is adding additional storage units at their location at 2000 East Highway 290.  The Brenham HEB store is also adding a curbside pickup area for customers who make online purchases.

Five new residences were also part of this month’s permits.  There were also two new manufactured homes listed.
