BRENHAM BUILDING PERMITS UP IN FEBRUARY
Building permits issued by the City of Brenham were up in February. 29 permits were issued for a total of $2.3 million. That compares to 24 permits issued in February of 2017 for a total of just $900,000.
Leading the list of permits last month is a parking lot and detention pond for the new Blinn Student Housing being constructed at 1192 Old Mill Creek Road. The parking lot and pond are being constructed by Collier Construction and are expected to cost $1.4 million.
There were 3 new residential housing starts issued and 4 new manufactured home permits in February.
A $25,000 permit was also issued for signage change at the new Super Donuts on Martin Luther King Parkway. That facility will be changing to a Shipley’s Donuts soon. The owners are buying into the Shipley’s franchise and will begin using their recipes and selling all the Shipley’s products. No date has been set for the change, but the employees will remain the same.
