BRENHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT RESPONDS TO TRAILER FIRE
The Brenham Fire department along with the Meyersville and Prairie Hill Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the report of a structure fire this (Monday) morning at 10:30 in the 400 block of New Year’s Creek Lane. Firemen arrived to find a trailer home completely destroyed by the fire with only the frame left standing. Firemen quickly extinguished the fire to protect surrounding structures. Meyersville Assistant Chief Justin Bosse says that the owner of the trailer had set it on fire intentionally to make room for a new trailer. The intentional burn had not been called into dispatch and firemen extinguished it at the request of neighbors. A total of 12 firemen responded were at the scene until 12:20, extinguishing hot spots.
At 11:00 AM this (Monday) morning, the Brenham Fire Department along with the Gay Hill Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to a grass fire in the 700 block of Pledger Road. A controlled burn spread and burned approximately a quarter acre. The fire was extinguished quickly and the Brenham Firemen were canceled before they had reached the scene.
