SNOOK BOND PASSES BY ONE VOTE

Part of the Snook ISD's bond issue passed, by just one vote.

265 people voted for Proposition A, while 264 voted against it.

It means that $7.5 million worth of improvements will come including a new cafeteria, weight room, parking and a career-technical-education addition.

The part of the bond that passed also includes a multipurpose football stadium and track, as well as a concession stand and restroom facility. The baseball fields will also be improved.

Proposition B failed with 250 votes for, 278 against.  That $725,000 bond under consideration was for a new softball complex.

In Caldwell, proposed improvements there, were defeated.  559 people voted for their $28.3-million bond while 606 voted against.

The bond would have meant major improvements to the high school campus with new additions to remove portable buildings. They also wanted to build a new high school gym.
