RENOVATIONS UNDERWAY AT CALDWELL HIGH SCHOOL

A $3.6 million construction project has begun at Caldwell High School.

The project, which kicked off Sunday, will replace the 35-year-old air conditioning system, as well as replacing all of the ceiling tiles and installing LED lights.

Superintendent Andrew Peters says adding the LED lights will save the district about $30,000 in electrical expenses for the year.

Peters goes on to say that the district is basically taking a building that's in good shape and giving it new life.

The money for the construction will come out of the district's operations budget.  Peters says they will try s bond issue again in the fall to help pay the funds back.

The renovations are expected to take the entire summer school vacation.  The school opening is set for August 15th.
