BRENHAM A&M STUDENT RECEIVES NATIONAL RECOGNITION
A Brenham student, attending Texas A&M has received national recognition.
James “Will” McElreath, the son of Lance and Harriet McElreath, had earned the runner-up position for the prestigious 2018 Robert L. Lichten Award by the American Helicopter Society.
McElreath was recognized for a paper involving force and flowfield measurements and unsteady aerodynamics on a rotor blade.
He previously had won the Southwest Region award and competed with six other regional winners for the national award.
McElreath was one of four students from A&M’s Department of Aerospace Engineering to receive a 2018-19 Vertical Flight Foundation scholarship from the American Helicopter Society.
McElreath works in the Advanced Vertical Flight Laboratory at A&M.
He is a 2015 graduate of Brenham High School.
