SEARCH WARRANT EXECUTED IN MURDER-FOR-HIRE CASE
More details in a murder-for-hire case in Travis County are coming to light after a search warrant was executed at the victim’s home.

(Brazos Co. Jail)
Investigators detail in an 11-page search warrant the financial struggles they believe led Nicholas Shaughnessy of College Station to allegedly have his father killed.
The warrant allowed authorities access to the home, vehicles and electronic devices connected to the 19-year-old suspect.

(Travis Co. Jail)
According to the warrant, Nicolas and his wife 19-year-old Jaclyn Edison, who is also charged in the death, were suffering from financial problems in the weeks and months leading to the deadly home invasion near Austin.
Police also confirmed there was a 2 million dollar policy on the Theodore Shaughnessy’s life, with his son as the sole beneficiary.
A third suspect was arrested earlier this month. 21-year-old Johnny Leon III is believed to have been the shooter.
