LIONS HOLD EYE SCREENINGS FOR KIDS

  

Two local organizations recently teamed up to help young children with their eyesight.

Wednesday morning, the Brenham Evening Lions & Washington County Ladies Lions club teamed up with Brenham Elementary and Kellie Fontenot with staff... to screen students/children at Brenham Elementary School through the Lions KidSight program.

The Lions screened 29 students. There were six students who were referred to see an optometrist.

All Lions using the Optic Plus screening unit must be certified through the state of Texas.  The two local Lions Clubs joined to purchase the OpticPlus unit for testing in Washington County.

Lions involved were:  David Brodhead, Randy Hoppens, Gary Ivy, Joe Green, LaVerne Krumrey, Carol Hutchens & Lady Lions President Lori Balusek.
