PANTHERS FALL TO SHINER, 63-31

Shiner broke open a close game with three second quarter touchdowns on route to a 63-31 win over the Burton Panthers, Thursday night.

The Comanches (3-0) led 14-12 after the first quarter, but outscored the Panthers 21-6 in the second quarter, to take a 35-18 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Shiner outscored the Panthers (1-2) 28-13 over the second half, to cruise to the 32-point win.

DeMonderick Winters and Caleb Harmel accounted for all five of the Panthers’ touchdowns.  Winters scored on two runs of eight yards each and caught a 65-yard pass from Harmel.  Harmel ran for scores of 15 and 65 yards.

The game was moved up to Thursday night due to impending inclement weather Friday in Shiner.

The Panthers will finally play a home game next Friday when they host Weimar at 7:30 at Panther Stadium.  The game can be heard on AM-1280 KWHI, FM 101.7 and www.kwhi.com.
