ONLY ONE CANDIDATE SO FAR FOR CITY COUNCIL POST
With a Friday deadline looming, only one person has filed so far for a special election for the vacant Position-Five At-Large Brenham City Council seat.
Former councilman Charlie Pyle resigned last month after suffering serious health problems.
According to City Secretary Jeana Bellinger, former Brenham Economic Development Foundation project manager Clint Kolby is the only candidate to file so far for that seat.
The filing deadline is Friday at 5 p.m.
The special election could be canceled if it is not a contested race.
The winner will serve the remainder of Pyle’s term, until May 2021.
