SATURDAY LAST DAY TO TURN IN SCRAP TIRES FOR FREE IN WASHINGTON COUNTY

Washington County residents have until tomorrow (Saturday) to dispose of scrap tires for free in Brenham.

As part of an effort by the county, the City of Brenham, and Keep Washington County Beautiful, the Citizens Collection Station in Brenham is taking scrap tires at no charge through tomorrow.

Up to eight passenger tires 20 inches and smaller will be accepted per household, for free.  Anyone who has more than eight tires, or tires bigger than 20 inches, is asked to schedule with the collection station to bring in these tires at the end of the event, if space is available.  The station asks that people do not bring rims.

People bringing in tires will need to provide a proof of residency, like a utility bill or driver’s license.  The event is only for residential customers; commercial accounts will be charged regularly.

The Citizens Collection Station can be found at 2009 Old Chappell Hill Road in Brenham.  The office will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today (Friday), and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow.

For more information, call the collection station at 979-337-7455.
