BELLVILLE/EDC CONTINUE DISCUSSIONS OVER GRANT PROGRAM

  

The Bellville City Council has approved changes in the proposed Economic Development Corporation by-laws.

The council, however, has not approved the organization’s guidelines and criteria for its business improvement grant program.

The council says it wants more information and time to study that information, which, if approved, would allow the BEDC to administer larger grants without council approval.

Mayor Jo Ed Lynn says more clarification is needed.

Council member Donna Jacob said this could be taken care of in a workshop with the city council and BEDC, where everyone could ask questions—or this could handle as a committee meeting.
