GRIMES CO. GO TEXAN ACTIVITIES BEGIN FRIDAY NIGHT

  

Go Texan season continues this weekend in Navasota, with Grimes County Go Texan.

It all gets underway tonight (Friday) with the Kick-off Dance at 8 p.m., featuring Jeff Woolsey and the Dancehall Kings.  The dance will run until midnight.

Saturday’s events begin at 9 a.m. when the barbecue and chili booths open, along with vendors and concessions.  A dance with the Desert Roads Band takes place from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Through the day, guests can also sign up for horseshoe and washer tossing competitions, a Bloody Mary contest, a jackpot chili contest, and events for the kids.

On Sunday, there will be the cook-off judging, followed by the presentation of awards.

Tickets for Friday’s dance are $20 per person, while Saturday’s dance is $10.
