BRENHAM F.D. RESPONDS TO DRYER FIRE
The Brenham Fire Department was called out to a dryer fire Wednesday night.
Just before 9 p.m., the department was dispatched to the 100 block of Shady Acres Lane, to reports of a structure fire. Brenham and Berlin units arrived to find light smoke coming from the front door.
Upon making entry, they found the dryer plug was smoldering. Brenham Fire Department members turned the power off to the dryer and ventilated the home, then turned the scene over to the Berlin Fire Department. No damage was done to the home besides an electric plug and dryer vent.
Earlier on Wednesday, around 3:45 p.m., firefighters were sent to the 2000 block of FM 389, for reports of a gas odor in the area. Units arrived to find the gas smell inside one of the trailer homes.
Members reported that pilot lights were out inside the trailer, due to the tank being empty outside. Units opened a window to ventilate, and returned to service.
