BRENHAM ELECTRIC CREWS FIX POWER POLE STRUCK BY LIGHTNING

  

Electric crews in Brenham were called to repair a power pole Friday night, after it was struck by lightning.

Just after 9:30 p.m., the Brenham Fire Department responded to the 1100 block of North Park Street for a lightning strike.  When they arrived, they found lightning had hit a utility pole, causing it to split and lean over.

The fire department secured the area and stood by until the city’s electric crews fixed the pole.  Fire Department C-Shift Captain Brett Schroeder said the pole was fixed in about an hour, and there were no injuries.
