TWO SEPARATE TRAFFIC STOPS LEAD TO ARRESTS IN FAYETTE CO.

Two separate traffic stops led to arrests Tuesday in Fayette County. Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that at 8:30 Tuesday evening Deputy Adam Mack made a traffic stop on Hwy 71 west of Lagrange. When contact was made with the driver of the vehicle, Deputy Mack saw a marijuana pipe lying at the feet of the driver of the vehicle. Once a probable cause search was conducted, marijuana and a controlled substance were located in the vehicle. 27 year old Thomas Gilbert of Houston, was arrested and transported to the Fayette County Jail.

On the same evening at 9:00 p.m. Deputy Ryan Meagher witnessed a vehicle commit a traffic violation on Davis Road which resulted in the driver being stopped for the violation. Once contact was made with the driver it was noted that the individual did not have a valid driver’s license. The driver of the vehicle admitted to Deputy Meagher that he had narcotics inside of the vehicle. Deputy Meagher located Methamphetamine and what was suspected to be a meth pipe in the back seat of the vehicle. Arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance was 40 year old Jerry Davis out of Muldoon.
