SMALL BUSINESS FORUM SET FOR WEDNESDAY IN BRENHAM
Area business owners and managers are gearing up for the 6th Annual Small Business Forum in Brenham tomorrow (Wednesday).
The annual forum, co-hosted by the Washington County, Burleson County, and Navasota-Grimes County Chambers, gives local professionals an opportunity to gain contacts and the knowledge to help businesses thrive.
The forum will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Washington County Fairgrounds Event Center, at 1305 East Blue Bell Road in Brenham.
Several guest will present speeches at the forum, including: Matt Prochaska, Brazos Valley Economic Development Corporation President; Mark Winchester, U.S. Small Business Administration Houston District Deputy Director; John Romero of the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service; and Tax Manager Ashley Freeman.
The keynote speaker during the luncheon will be Dr. Nathan Bryan of Baylor College of Medicine. The title of his lecture will be “How Not to Die from Cardiovascular Disease: My Story of Discoveries and Life Lessons Learned along the Journey”.
The highlight of the event will be the presentation of the Small Business of the Year Awards for 2019. Last year, the honor was awarded to Bliss Candy Company and South Texas Tack. This year, Tee Dippel of Brenham National Bank will serve as the emcee.
This year’s event is being sponsored by Baylor Scott and White Medical Center, Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative, Brenham National Bank and Citizens State Bank.
