A Brenham care facility is collecting fans for senior citizens.

Brenham Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, on East Sayles St., is asking for donations to help local seniors beat the summer heat.

Collection underway and will continue through Thursday, Aug. 8.

Brenham Nursing and Rehabilitation admissions coordinator Alice Birkelbach says all fans collected will be given to senior citizens.

All fans will be donated to the Washington County Health Living Association for distribution at its senior center.

Birkelbach said she realized there was again a need when she was approached by a senior citizen.
