GAS PRICES CONTINUE DOWNHILL TREND

  

Average prices for gas in Texas continue to drop.

The average price statewide for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel is $2.40, according to numbers from the AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch.  That price is five cents less than this day last week, and 22 cents less than this day last year.

In Brenham, the average price sits a little higher at $2.42, with a low of $2.28 and a high of $2.70.

Surveying the major metropolitan areas in Texas, drivers in Midland are paying the most on average per gallon at $2.60, while drivers in McAllen are paying the least at $2.23 per gallon.

Nationally, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel is $2.66, five cents less compared to this day a week ago, and 20 cents less than this time last year.
