STORM HITS BRAZOS VALLEY, MONDAY AFTERNOON

Monday afternoon storms that swept through the Brazos Valley, hit Brazos County particularly hard.

Wind gusts of between 50-and-60 miles per hour, leaving a trail of damage across Bryan and College Station.

Several power lines and utility poles were reported damage across the area and at least one airplane was damaged at Easterwood Airport, as it was blown over when the ropes that tied it down broke.  One power pole was reportedly snapped in half.

Nearly 4,000 customers of Entergy were without power until well after 8:00 p.m., after lightning struck a sub-station.
