LOCAL DRIVER TAKES DRAG RACING TITLE IN ENNIS
Arabella Maitland of Brenham competed in the 2019 NHRA Division 4 Summit Jr. ET finals at Texas Motorplex in Ennis, Tx on September 8th.
Maitland defeated Braden Bettis of DeLeon, Texas in the 15- 17 year old category. Maitland had a 0.061 second reaction time and ran 8.044 seconds on an 8.04 dial at 80.51 MPH. Bettis had a negative 0.005 second reaction time that handed the win over to Maitland. Bettis ran 7.915 seconds on a 7.90 dial at 82.10 MPH.

This win added a 3rd NHRA Wally and 4th Championship to Maitland’s collection. She has a 2012 NHRA Jr. Dragster challenge Wally, 2014 NHRA Eastern Conference Finals 11 year old Championship Wally and now the 2019 NHRA Division 4 Championship Wally.
Arabella Maitland is the 16 year old daughter of Jeff and Marla Maitland of Brenham. The Granddaughter of George Rhodes of Brenham and Gary and Janet Maitland of Flagler Beach, FL. Maitland a Junior at Brenham High School and is a distinguish honor roll student.
Division 4 includes Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, Oklahoma and New Mexico.
