The Buccaneers finished the season with a 6-9-1 overall record and 4-7-1 conference record.

“I am thankful that this team has helped us make progress and take our program forward,” said Michael McBride, Blinn head coach. “They increased the amount of wins this year, we set a program-best record, and took a couple of really good teams into overtime, so I am really proud. The sophomores were the pioneers of the program and it is nice that they are leaving here in a better place than last year, so they should be happy knowing that they helped improve our program.”

Hope Hillhouse

Kaley Kaspar led the Buccaneers with three shots and two goals, while Keana Flores had two shots and recorded an assist. Karson Funderburk also recorded an assist in the match. Hope Hillhouse was phenomenal on defense with 18 saves.

“I am so glad that we all worked together as a team and put so much hard work into this season and effort into each game,” said Janay Wilson, sophomore forward. “I am proud that I was able to be on this team since its inaugural season and that Blinn gave me an opportunity to continue my playing career. I am really going to miss being on this field and with my teammates.”

Angelina scored the first goal in the 22nd minute to lead 1-0 and didn’t score again until the 81st minute when the Roadrunners tied the game 2-2 on a penalty kick.

Kaspar scored Blinn’s two goals in the 34th and 59th minutes with assists from Flores and Funderburk, respectively.

After two scoreless overtime periods the game concluded in a 2-2 draw.
