BLUEBONNET ELECTRIC TAKING GOVERNMENT YOUTH TOUR APPLICATIONS THROUGH FRIDAY
Tomorrow (Friday) is the last day for high school students in Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative’s service area to apply for an all-expenses-paid trip to Austin and Washington, D.C.
Applications are due by 5 p.m. tomorrow afternoon for the Government-in-Action Youth Tour. The tour, taking place June 17th through the 26th, will give two high school students the opportunity to visit the U.S. and State Capitols, as well as the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum. Students will also receive a $1,000 scholarship.
To be eligible for the tour, students must be in the 11th or 12th grade, live in the home of a parent or legal guardian who is a current Bluebonnet member with an active account, and whose primary residence is within the outer boundaries of Bluebonnet’s service area, including city limits that are within those outer boundaries.
Students will need to submit a completed application form, along with a brief video—limited to five minutes—answering how day-to-day life would be different without electricity.
If selected as a finalist, students must be available to attend a personal interview on February 10th at 6 p.m. at Bluebonnet’s headquarters in Bastrop, at 155 Electric Avenue.
