CALDWELL MAYOR’S RACE TO BE CONTESTED IN MAY
Caldwell Mayor Norris McManus will have an opponent in the May 2nd city election.
Local businessman Mike Valigura has filed to oppose McManus in his bid for re-election.
This will be Caldwell’s first contested mayoral race in 14 years (2006). McManus was appointed mayor in 2010 and elected to the post in 2012.
Valigura is a real estate broker in Caldwell.
Two alderman’s seats are up for election: Jonnie Vic Barnett and James C. Wilde have both filed for re-election. Neither has drawn an opponent, so far.
The filing deadline for the Caldwell City election is Friday (2/14).
