TRAVEL ISSUES CHANGE CAST FOR YOUNG IRELANDERS PERFORMANCE

Due to unavoidable travel issues, the Young Irelanders’ March 17 concert at the Dr. W.W. O’Donnell Performing Arts Center will be performed by their North American troupe instead of the original Irish cast.

This week, the Young Irelanders informed the Blinn College District that the original performers were unable to obtain the necessary visas to appear.

The 7 p.m. show will still feature Celtic music and dance.

“We apologize for the change, but we look forward to hosting an exciting show with the same energy our patrons recall from the Young Irelanders’ 2015 performance,” said Debbi Vavra, Dean of Visual/Performing Arts and Kinesiology. “We appreciate everyone’s understanding and know that our audience will still enjoy the show.”

The Young Irelanders concert will mark the final show in Blinn’s 2019-20 Performing Arts Series hosted at the Brenham Campus. This year’s performers included “Rave On! The Buddy Holly Experience,” Riders in the Sky’s “Christmas the Cowboy Way,” and “Finding Neverland.”

Individual show tickets are $35 ($30 for groups of 10 or more and for Blinn employees) and $15 for children ages 10 and under.
