TWO ARRESTED THURSDAY AFTER TRAFFIC STOPS

  

Two people were arrested Thursday by Brenham Police after traffic stops.

Thursday morning at 9:34, Officers conducted a traffic stop near East Alamo and Clinton Streets.  Investigation revealed the passenger Kenneth Brooks Helmer, 33 of Brenham to be wanted out of Washington County district court.  Helmer was taken into custody and transported to jail.

Also on Thursday, Brenham Police initiated a traffic stop in the 900 block of US Highway 290 East.  Investigation revealed the driver to be in possession of methamphetamines and ecstasy. The driver Brendon Dupre, 22 out of Mamou, Louisiana was placed in custody for two counts of possession of a controlled substance and transported to Washington County Jail.
