At a recent meeting of the Bellville Economic Development Corporation, board member Danny Jacob said that a former board member was reaching out to people who could perform maintenance on the bust.

After the bust is touched up, it will need to be repainted.  According to Jacob, based on the date of the paint cans used previously on the bust, the last time it had received maintenance was 2016.

The bust was dedicated in May 2013, and was completed using grant funds.

  1. That is a stupid thing to spend money on! The streets of Bellville are in deplorable conditions and nobody sees fit to repair them or do maintenance to them . The streets are so rough it damages tires rims and various other parts on the citizens and tax payers automobiles.. The city of Bellville has some great priorities.
