HARVICK WINS NASCAR’S RETURN TO RACING

Live sports got a boost in the arm, Sunday, with the return of NASCAR.

For the first time since March 8th, live NASCAR racing took to the track.

Without fans in the grandstands and limited crew members in the pits, Kevin Harvick won the Real Heroes 400-mile race at Darlington, marking the return of the circuit.

Harvick won, going away, with Alex Bowman a distant second and Kurt Bush was third.

"I just want to thank everybody from NASCAR and all the teams for letting us do what we do," Harvick said. "I didn't think it was going to be that different, then we won and it's dead silent out here. We miss the fans."

"All of you front line workers are the reason that we're here today and our country is actually still running."

It was the 50th career victory for Harvick, who led 159 of the 293 laps.  Harvick tied Hall of Famers Junior Johnson and Ned Jarrett for 12th on NASCAR's all-time wins list.

NASCAR's elite Cup Series next races again Wednesday night at Darlington, which is hosting three events in four days before the sport shifts to Charlotte.
