U.I.L. PROPOSED BREAK IN SUMMER WORKOUTS

Ahead of the holiday weekend, the University Interscholastic League (UIL) has advised schools to hit the brakes on summer practices.

The UIL posted a statement to twitter on Wednesday evening with their suggestion, that in anticipation of the July 4th holiday and increased social interaction, schools close summer workouts, rehearsals, practices and instruction until Monday, July 13th.

The statement goes on to say, this move could “reduce the risk of exposure and provide an opportunity to review current plans.”

The UIL’s suggestion comes during a time when various schools across the state are already having to halt their summer workouts due to the spread of COVID-19.
