VERLANDER & GREINKE THROW BULLPEN SESSIONS
One day after the Astros had to cancel a summer workout, their top two pitchers threw bullpen sessions at Minute Maid Park.
Justin Verlander and Zack Greinke, who are expected to lead the Astros’ rotation this season, both pitched bullpen sessions Tuesday.
Manager Dusty Baker said he hopes the Astros start playing intrasquad games in the next couple of days, either this weekend or sooner.
Baker said he hopes Verlander and Greinke face hitters by the end of the week.
The Astros hope to play exhibition games before the start of the regular season against the Seattle Mariners on July 24.
