COACH GUSTAFSON HOSPITALIZED AFTER SUFFERING HEART ATTACK
The legendary former baseball coach Texas Longhorns has reportedly suffered a “major heart attack”.
According to family members, Cliff Gustafson, the winningest baseball coach in Texas history, is reportedly in stable condition at Asension Seton Hospital in Austin.
Gustafson, who is 89, was head coach at Texas from 1968-1996. He won 1,466 games and led Texas to two College World Series titles in 17 appearances, 22 Southwest Conference championships and 11 Southwest Conference Tournament championships.
Gustafson was the National Coach of the Year in 1982 and ’83. He was inducted into the College Baseball Hall of Fame in 2006.
