AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD HOLDS FIRST VIRTUAL MEETING

It probably took longer to work out the technical issues than the actual meeting, but Brenham’s Airport Advisory Board held their first virtual meeting Tuesday. Board members approved the location for an 80 by 100 foot hanger for Brent Nedbalek and Aviators Plus. The new hanger will be located in the vacant area south of the city owned t-hangers on the north end of the field. It still needs FAA approval and drainage studies, but Nedbalek at least knows the area where the hanger will be located.

The board also heard an update on the Hump/Bump repair to the runway that is currently taking place. The airport is operating with a reduced length runway while the project is taking place. Assistant City Manager Donald Reese told the board that due to the favorable weather, the contractor is currently a few days ahead of schedule with the repair. The project is due to be completed by August 21st. The board was also received an update on the minimum standards document for the airport. The document was approved by City Council at their July 2nd meeting and clearly defines the users and their roles at the airport.
