PANTHERS DROP SEASON OPENER TO HOLLAND, 27-12
The Burton Panthers rallied, but fell short in their season opener, as Holland downed Burton, 27-12.
Trailing at the half, 13-0, Burton (0-1) got on the board when running back Pierson Spies raced 17 yards for the touchdown.
After the Hornets extended their lead, Panther quarterback Cooper Lucherk sprinted 37-yards to cut the lead to 20-12. However, a Hornet score on the ensuing possession made it 27-12 and neither team would light the scoreboard the rest of the way.
