BRENHAM SCHOOL BOARD APPROVES TWO ITEMS
It only took 10 minutes for the Brenham School Board to approve two items and adjourn their meeting at noon Monday.
The board approved the submission of the district’s asynchronous learning plan to the Texas Education Agency. Asynchronous learning is where the student learns at their own pace with materials supplied by the instructor. Although remote learners at Brenham ISD have some time that is synchronous, with the teacher live on-line, most of their learning is asynchronous, or at their own pace. The students still have to log in on line to complete their work, and that time is kept track of by BISD. Brandi Hendrix, Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction, said putting the plan down in writing helped her understand the process much more.
In the only item on the agenda, the board approved a Resolution designating October 14th at Texas Education Human Resources Day.
The next scheduled meeting of the Brenham School Board is Monday, October 19th.
