BRENHAM FIRE FIGHTERS BUSY SATURDAY WITH SMALL GRASS FIRES

The Brenham Fire Department was called out three times Saturday to minor grass fires.

Just after 11:00 a.m. the department was called out to the 4800 block of FM 389 to assist the Salem Fire Department.  Brenham supplied their all-terrain vehicle because the ground around the fire was extremely saturated.

Approximately one acre burned.

The Department also responded Saturday to the 5200 block of Old Gay Hill Road and to the 2500 block of Tigerpoint Road to minor grass fires.

Each was quickly extinguished and damage was minor.

According to Department officials, the key factor in each fire was the extremely low humidity, Saturday.
