MT. ROSE MBC TO HOST VIRTUAL BLACK HISTORY MONTH SEMINARS

  

Mt. Rose Missionary Baptist Church of Brenham is hosting a series of virtual Black History Month seminars on various topics each Monday in February.

The seminars will be presented via Zoom, and are available for public viewing.

The first seminar is on “The Underground Railroad through South Texas into Mexico,” and will be presented on February 1st from 7 to 8:30 p.m.  Roseann Bacha-Garza, a historian, anthropologist and lecturer with the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, will present her research on the subject.

Subsequent seminar discussions include “COVID’s Impact and Vaccinations: What the Black Community Should Know” on February 8th, “The Effects of COVID-19 on Public School Students” on February 15th, and “The 2020 Election: Texas and Beyond” on February 22nd.  Each of these seminars will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Anyone looking to participate in the seminars must give their name and email address to mountrosembc@gmail.com.  Individuals will then be provided the Zoom link for each presentation.
