#15 BUCCANEER WOMEN FALL AT CISCO IN THREE OVERTIMES

CISCO, Texas — The No. 15 Blinn College women’s basketball team (2-1) fell to Cisco College in a triple-overtime thriller, 103-99, Wednesday night on the road.

With the loss, Blinn’s overall record falls to 2-1.

“It was a very tough game, and I am not disappointed in my team,” head coach Jeff Jenkins said. “They are all good kids and players. We will all learn from our mistakes from this game and get better.”

Keaundra Eddings led the offense with 24 points, Hailey Atwood followed with 14, and Telisha Brown and Jessica Soders each chipped in 13.

Atwood scored eight points to help Blinn lead 17-10 in the opening quarter. The Buccaneers kept the momentum in the second quarter as Brown and Eddings combined for 16 of Blinn’s points. They sunk four 3-pointers to give the Buccaneers a 38-25 lead at the half.

Eddings’ two 3-pointers in the third helped Blinn hold a 53-49 advantage entering the final quarter, but Cisco managed to even the score 70-70 to send the game into overtime. After three overtime periods, Cisco came out on top 103-99.

Next, the Buccaneers travel to play Ranger College on Friday, Jan. 29, at 5:30 p.m.
