Loren Scott leads Blinn with .625 hitting percentage
CISCO, Texas — The Blinn College volleyball team (6-0) defeated Cisco College, 3-0 (25-14, 25-18, 25-11), Tuesday night on the road.
With the win, the Buccaneers improve their overall record to 6-0.
“This is a good win for us against a good team,” head coach Terry Gamble said. “I thought we played good defense the entire match.”
The Buccaneers put up a .313 hitting percentage and combined for eight blocks as a team.
Loren Scott led Blinn with a .625 hitting percentage and 26 assists, Jayde Shelton led the Buccaneers with 12 kills, and Lixai Perez Velez led Blinn with 18 digs.The Buccaneers opened the match with a 25-14 win.
Blinn pulled ahead 2-0 in the match after defeating Cisco 25-18 in the second set. In the third set, the Buccaneers cruised to a 14-point victory to claim the sweep.
Next, the Buccaneers will compete against Vernon College in a non-conference match on Saturday, Feb. 6, at 2 p.m. on the road.
