DPS: DL/ID EXPIRATION WAIVER ENDS IN APRIL
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is reminding the public that the waiver on expiration dates for driver licenses (DLs) and identification cards (IDs) ends on April 14th.
Customers who need to renew are urged to make an appointment or renew online as soon as possible.
The waiver, granted by Governor Greg Abbott in March due to COVID-19, applied to DLs, commercial DLs, commercial learner permits, ID cards and election identification certificates that expired on or after March 13, 2020.
Appointments are required for all in-person services, but some services are available over the phone or online. More information is available at www.dps.texas.gov.
