JURDEN BREAKS CONFERENCE CAREER STEALS RECORD

Texas Lutheran split a Thursday night doubleheader against St. Mary's winning the opener, 4-2 and dropping the nightcap, 4-3.

All-American outfielder and Brenham native, Kelly Jurden stole a base, scored two runs, walked twice, and had a hit in the victory.

In game two, Jurden stole two more bases, breaking the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference career record for steals. Jurden now has 116 steals in 111 career games.

She is a 2017 graduate of Brenham High School, where she was an All-District outfielder for the Cubettes’ softball team.

Kelly is the daughter of Dan and Ann Jurden of Brenham.
