BRENHAM ISD DANCE TEAMS WIN AT FREDERICKSBURG DANCE COMPETITION

The Brenham High School and Junior High School dance teams took home several awards from a recent dance competition.

The Brenham High School Belles and Brenham Junior High School Brenadiers competed Saturday at the Danceline USA Hill Country Regional Competition in Fredericksburg.

The Belles received Best in Class for Jazz, the Judges Choice Award for the lyrical category, and the Platinum Sweepstakes Award – scoring 95 or above.

Meanwhile, the Brenadiers were named Grand Champions, after also taking that title at the Crowd Pleasers Dance competition in Cypress.  In addition, they received the Platinum Sweepstakes Award and Outstanding Showmanship for the pom category.

Several individual dancers also received accolades for their performances.

On the Belles, Brynn Planto was named first place soloist, and Julissa Guerrero was named second place.  Madeline Coston received the AJC Founders Award, exemplifying the core values of kindness, integrity, responsibility and respect.

For the Brenadiers, Mia Espinoza and Cheyenne Ortiz earned a first place finish for duet.  Graceyn Stroech won the AJC Founders Award and a second-place solo finish.  Skyler Amann and Olivia Pattison tied for third place soloist.

Brenham ISD Dance Director and teacher Sharitza Ordonez received the Director Appreciation Award.
