BRENHAM MAN RECEIVES 18-YEAR PRISON SENTENCE
A 21-year-old Brenham man has been sentenced to 18 years in prison in the latest edition of 21st Judicial District Court.
Spencer Lee McCarty plead guilty to number of charges, including: two counts of Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance; Evading Arrest/Detention with a Vehicle; and Possession of Marijuana, Between 4 ounces and 5 pounds.
He will serve all sentences concurrently.
McCarty was arrested on New Year’s Day in 2019 along with a Sealy man, after allegedly robbing a man at gun point on Highway 290 East. The two were arrested after they tried to flee police on foot, after a brief high-speed chase.
Also sentenced in District Court:
27-year-old Justin Ogrodowicz of Conroe, to four years in prison for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and Burglary of a Building. He will also have to pay $1753.02 in restitution.
Ogrodowicz was arrested and charged with the break-in and ransacking of Little Mike’s Bar in Brenham on July 23 of last year.
33-Jessie Gomez, Jr. of Richmond, sentenced to four years’ probation and fined $1500 for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Attempted Tampering with Physical Evidence. He was also ordered to perform 150 hours community service restitution.
19-year-old Jabreaona Breshae Wright of Brenham, was placed on four years’ probation for Unlawful Delivery/Manufacture W/Intentional Simulated Controlled Substance. Wright waslalso fined $1000 and ordered to perform 150 hours community service.
35-year-old Rosa Nelly Reyes of Pasadena, was sentenced to two-and-a-half years’ probation for Possession of Controlled Substance. Reyes was also fined $500.
And, 28-year-old Troy Green of Washington, received two years’ probation and was fined $500 for Theft of Property Between $750-$2,500. Green was also ordered to perform 100 hours community service.
